This ethnography opened my eyes to the greater truths and significances of football players. Prior to my research, I thought of them as big guys that mindlessly throw around a football, just to play a game. I have discovered that football means a lot more to some of the players. For some, it is their dream, their future.  For others it is a way to let loose and escape the hardships of life. These boys that play football work hard mentally as well as physically. They have to understand and remember plays, rules, and football jargon. In terms of discipline, endurance and thinking on your feet, football prepares a player for life. This ethnography explored the social organization, spoken and unspoken, of the football ritual with hope that you will be left with a  better understanding of the deeper significance and structures which turn the everyday football game, into something more.
